About

Until a few days ago, I was an award winning, Boston-based, photojournalist, multimedia producer and videographer.
While I received my first paid assignment in 1997, I have been a Staff Photographer with Gatehouse Media New England since 2005 and worked for numerous publications along the way.
To subsidize my journalism habit, I happily accept freelance work including events, weddings, advertising, public relations, food and portraiture photography. No job is too big or small.
Some of my past and present clients include (in no particular order), The Boston Herald, The Patriot Ledger, O-Magazine, NECN, Madison Square Garden Entertainment, The Rockettes, Cirque de Soleil, Wang Theatre, MA Bar Association, The Red Cross, YMCA, Boston University Medical School, Perkins School (For The Blind), The Park School and many more. I have also lectured on photojournalism, multimedia and digital photography at numerous organization, including WBUR (Boston’s National Public Radio affiliate), New England School of Photography and The Brookline Center for the Arts.
Other than photography, I am most passionate about sailing, cooking and the company of close friends and family.
Where did the domain name WordsLie.com come from…
One of my first photo editor’s would occasionally say, “I don’t trust words, I trust photographs. Words Lie!” This was back in the days of film, when manipulating an image wasn’t nearly as easy. While I believe he meant it literally, now, I see those two words as more of a guiding principal for my work as a photojournalist. A reminder that the images I produce can reveal hard truths.
